Engine Porting :
None
Street Port (Mild) [+$150.00]
Streetable Intake Porting involves changing the size, shape, position, and surface finish of the ports and port runners. The power increase from porting varies, depending on the other modifications made to the engine, but averages 5 percent. Low-RPM torque is reduced slightly, but idle is still smooth. Intake porting includes two primary and two secondary ports.

Street Port (Wild) [+$295.00]
Streetable Intake Porting involves changing the size, shape, position, and surface finish of the ports and port runners. The power increase from porting varies, depending on the other modifications made to the engine, but averages 10 percent. Low-RPM torque is reduced slightly, but idle is still smooth. Intake porting includes two primary and two secondary ports.

Street Port (Extreme) [+$425.00]
Streetable Intake and Exhaust Porting involves changing the size, shape, position, and surface finish of the ports and port runners. The power increase from porting varies, depending on the other modifications made to the engine, but averages 20 percent. Low-RPM torque is reduced slightly, but idle is still smooth. Intake porting includes two primary and two secondary ports. Exhaust porting includes both exhaust ports (turbo housings only).

Bridge Port with housing resurface [+$569.00]
Standard Bridge Intake Porting is a race porting technique that involves adding a second port alongside the main port. The bridge between the ports is left so that the corner seals and apex seals will be held in position as they pass by this area. The modification adds approximately 150 degrees of intake duration and overlap for increased high-RPM power. Depending on the intake system, such porting commonly peaks in power at over 9,000 RPM.

Engine Core :A core charge is a fee we must charge to insure we receive back from you a rebuildable engine. A rebuildable engine is a engine that has no major components damaged beyond limits. Once we receive your core we will disassemble it and inspect the rotor housings and rotors, if they are within limits your core will be refunded, if not we will call to discuss the options.

I am going to send you my engine to rebuild.
We will have your engine picked up for a fee and once it arrives at the shop it will be torn down to find out condition.

79-91 N/A [+$400.00]
86-91 Turbo [+$500.00]
93-95 [+$700.00]
Engine Options :
none
Custom engine paint [+$100.00]
Black, Blue, Silver, Red, Yellow. Other colors available. Just let us know when you order

Corner seal spring upgrade [+$29.56]
The 93 and up engines already use these springs because they are better. If you are ordering a 84-91 engine make sure you select this option

Rotor Housing Cooling Modification [+$189.54]
To increase the surface area and reduce thermal loads on race and turbocharged engines we cut cooling fins into the coolant passages in the rotor housing hot zones. The result is less rotor housing water seal failures and extended apex seal life.

Polished rotors [+$50.00]
Polishing the rotors helps keep the Carbon from sticking to them, well worth the money

Super Apex Seals [+$150.00]
These seals are more durable, and are designed for the high boost engines.

Engine Balancing [+$450.00]
If you intend your race engine to run above 8,500 RPM or if the engine is a non-standard assembly, we recommend balancing the rotating assembly. The rotating assembly includes both rotors, main pulley, front and rear counterweights. and the eccentric shaft. We also recommend balancing the pressure plate and the flywheel on the rotating assembly.

Rear Modified Stationary Gear [+$197.00]
Our Type I Modified Stationary Gears are strongly recommended for engines which are regularly running near or above 8,500 RPM. These gears have had several machining modifications performed, as well as heat-treating of the teeth to improve fatigue resistance and yield strength, includes a three-window bearing and is intended for high power output racing engines

Modified Front Stationary Gear 13B [+$297.00]
Our Type II Modified Stationary Gears areType II Modified Stantionar based on the 1992 stock front and rear stationary gears. modified stationary gears include gas nitriding and screw-lock bearings, a machined step to accommodate the large diameter thrust bearings and related components, and an improved bearing with a matching oil groove.

Race Clearancing of Rotors [+$197.00]
Race clearancing of rotors is recommended for engines operating at or above 8,500 RPM. The clearancing machining process removes material from both sides of the rotor to minimize the likelihood of contact with the side housings in high horsepower, high RPM engines.

Mazda Factory Race Rotor Bearings [+$237.00]
Mazda Factory Race (MFR) Rotor Bearings are the best bearings available for engine operation near or above 8,500 RPM. These MFR rotor bearings are manufactured with a deep groove for additional oil storage and offer an additional .0005-inch (approx.) clearance.

3mm apex seal upgrade [+$295.00]
We machine both rotors to except the more durable 3mm apex seals, for a more bullet proof engine select this option.

ENG STUD KIT 13B Standard [+$488.00]
Studs are less prone to stretching under high boost applications. More accurate tensioning of engine. Less chance of bolt breakage. High quality 12-point nuts rated at 180,000 PSI tensile strength. Studs manufactured from 4140 chrome moly, heat treated, centreless ground and black oxided. Note the standard factory manual flywheel cannot be used with the Stud Kit.

ENG STUD KIT 13B Oversized [+$948.00]
The High Strength Oversized stud kit eliminates the need for doweling the engine block. All studs act as dowels which massively increases torsionial strength 70%. Rotor housing deflection reduced - increases apex seal life. Less material machined from housings and plates than with doweling, reducing the possibility of cracking. High boost engine expansion reduced.

Stage 3 w/ 3 mm Seals, January 24, 2009
Reviewer: anonymous
Ernst rebuilt my engine over two years ago and it's still running tip top at 15 psi (BNR Stage 2 turbos). It's difficult to find a meticulous engine builder these days (I've had another engine built by the other guy in Charlotte), with RX7World there are no disappointments

I just got back from the dyno 475hp to the rear wheels at 15psi I am very happy, I will be going to the track next, I will let you know the results. Thank you John J.

My rebuilt rotary is a dream, October 22, 2007
Reviewer:
"My rebuilt rotary is a dream, everything I ever wanted in an engine!! With a new downpipe and the Stage 3 porting it's putting out nearly 300hp while still getting 29mpg during interstate driving. Starts every time and makes me proud to own a rotary. Have RX7World install race bearings, stronger thicker steel apex seals, modify your port sizes and you won't ever regret it!!"
